Products · Anchor head

Anchor heads for multi-strand tendons.

The anchor head is a forged steel disc with one tapered hole per strand. It holds every strand of the tendon through its wedges and bears on the anchor cone.

Reading the model code

AT models are named by strand count and strand class. 12 AT 15 means twelve 15.2 mm strands; 19 AT 13 means nineteen 12.7 mm strands. The holes are drilled on a pitch circle (dimension E on the data sheet) sized to the cone behind the head.

The capacity of the anchorage is the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of its strands. Tendons are normally stressed to 80% of UTS, which is the jacking force shown in the table below.

One head, one kit

Each anchor head ships with its wedges, anchor cone, spiral reinforcement and HDPE duct, so the parts are always matched. The exploded view on the products page shows how they fit together for each model.

Anchor head questions.

Asked by designers and contractors before ordering.

What does 12 AT 15 mean?

Twelve strands of 15.2 mm (the 15 class) in an AT type anchorage. The first number is the strand count, the second the strand class.

What is the largest TYROS anchor head?

12 AT 15 and 19 AT 13, both rated at 400 t UTS with a 320 t jacking force at 80% UTS.

What is PCD on an anchor head?

The pitch circle diameter: the circle the strand holes are drilled on. It is 125 mm for 4 and 7 AT 13, 175 mm for 12 AT 13 and 200 mm for 12 AT 15 and 19 AT 13.
